Key Features

Sales

Microsoft Dynamics Sales helps agents gain better insights that allow them to close deals with customers faster and more efficiently.

With the help of real-time data and predictive analysis on a customer’s historical data are the best ways to understand how best to help them. Moreover, after logging in to the system, the salesman will be able to still view the Sales Dashboard, which will provide any vital information like the total year-to-date revenue of a business. The application’s team-oriented approach allows all the sales agents at a business to track their progress and measure it against others.

Project Service

The Microsoft dynamics 365 project service automation module helps businesses manage project-based services provided to their clients. From within this Microsoft Dynamics service, agents can track a project from initial sale to final invoice. The major steps in the process include opportunity management, project planning, resource management, team collaboration, and customer billing. The workflow process lets the entire team follow a project from a quote to an open to delivery, followed by completion and closure. To build a quote, project managers can use a drag-and-drop function to customize templates that segment a project’s billable hours by task name, role, start/end date, duration, and resources. The right resources can be quickly found by searching a database by skills and availability.

Field Service

The Microsoft Dynamics Field Service module helps companies manage their on-site service business through optimized scheduling. The goal is to streamline the process, giving agents the data they need when they need it in order to address issues before they occur and ultimately cut down on operational costs.

An automated scheduling and dispatch service uses historical data to pair the right resource with the right demand: Called Resource Scheduling Optimization, the process uses factors including skills, location, duration and travel time, priorities, and preferred resources. Then, once in the field, technicians can quickly pull up all relevant customer information from within Field Service, even on mobile. Lists of accounts, contacts, bookings, work orders, customer assets, activities, and even time off requests can be easily accessed from a lefthand menu bar on the agent’s dashboard alongside a map of the agent’s location.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Pros and cons

PROS:
  • Easy to use, not expensive, simple to navigate.
  • Microsoft dynamics 365 App for Outlook is available for e-mail. Its templates are very useful for communicating news or tips to a sales team. Integration with other Microsoft products is great too.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions are easy to customize, where even a person who lacks significant computer skills can create accounts, contacts, and the rest; no programming skills are required.
  • Customer support is good with the FAQ and options that are really needed.
  • Users can bulk data to One Drive and access it synchronized with my desktop.
  • Users can make entries in a place with no internet, and all data will be synchronized once an internet connection is established.
  • This CRM design allows organize all clients by categories and access them very fast and easy and remember the client history or important things of the last contact or visit.

CONS:
  • In order to fully administer the system, you need to be both a D365 admin and an Office 365 admin since some functions (like adding new users or exporting audit logs) require you to go into the admin screens of both systems to accomplish it.
  • Requires long customization to start running
  • Sign in a mobile app is too slow. Too much response time.
  • Excessive windows, tabs, and screens can make it difficult for first-time users. It needs a better menu.
  • It only supports Internet Explorer based browsers.
  • A little bit slow to data input if not customized, many fields not really needed.
  • Poor and difficult integration with Gmail may be a problem.
  • It’s slow to save data because of its cloud-based. It depends on the internet speed.
  • Every time there is a release on new improvements (updates), there are system failures and sluggishness.
  • Not friendly or easy to use for beginners
  • Their marketing add-ons are not as robust as what other field service CRM systems offer
  • Microsoft dynamics cost increases a lot as you are adding more users or require more features, you must keep in mind what you need and in advance to know or have a notion of how to use it to be worth the expense

PROS
  • What I like most about Microsoft Dynamics is that it is easy to install, set-up, and start using. I have used this software for more than a year at workstation to perform several business obligations. Microsoft Dynamics helps to make the most of the team's time and effort since it allows my agency to share communication, leads, and opportunities. I also like how it is simple to integrate this system with other essential business platforms. I appreciate the MS Outlook integration with Microsoft Dynamics, but plug-in was a bit overwhelming. I like how Microsoft Dynamics integrates with the full package of Microsoft services. Customization is easy to suit varying requirements of any business. Finally, I like how it is simple to import data using Excel templates generated by this platform. The only caveat here is that you have to be ready to use it. That means more than just having people trained in how to use the interface, but making sure everyone is on board for how this kind of data can and SHOULD inform and change how you interact with your clientele. If you're used to getting back to people within 24 hours, you need to be ready to shift that to 20 minutes. If you're used to treating everyone the same, you'd better be ready to create drip/nurture programs based on behavior.
CONS
  • I dislike the limits to the available customization on Microsoft Dynamics. I do not like how the user cannot see the amount of data stored in his or her entity. Mobile app is to slow, it takes too much response time. I do not like how this cloud-based solution fail to save data in case there is limited internet connection. Finally, I dislike the fact that Microsoft offer higher license cost per user.
