IBM and Atos Partner to Improve Cloud Migration in Financial Services

Multinational tech giant IBM is all set to partner with professional services company Atos. The two companies are joining forces to create a new Atos Cloud Center of Excellence. 

The new hub is expected to assist insurance companies and banks to improve their regulatory compliance and security while migrating their workloads to the cloud.

This news comes a few months after IBM and Atos announced the expansion of their global relationship earlier this year. Both companies are currently focussing on helping their customers accelerate their digital transformation processes.

COVID-19 Pandemic Accelerates Digital Transformation

The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the main catalysts to drive the demand for digital transformation. Businesses are tweaking their business models in line with the shifting market and customer trends. 

In the financial sector, insurance companies and banks are gradually moving their applications to the cloud at a rapid pace. However, cloud migration is marred with a number of roadblocks and not a very straightforward process. This is why a lot of financial companies are looking to partner with the right tech provider to unlock long-term opportunities. 

Atos and IBM Partnership

Atos and IBM have joined hands to cater to this increasing demand. The objective of the partnership is to provide the best solutions to support the growth of financial services with the new Atos Cloud Center of Excellence. Both the companies will help customers take their customer mission-critical activities to the Cloud. 

As a result of the partnership, we are likely to see workloads being shifted to the IBM Cloud for Financial Services, leveraging the platform’s compliance and built-in security protocols. 

Global Head of Financial Services & Insurance, Atos, Adrian Gregory said that the partnership with IBM will enable both companies to make a positive impact and support financial services companies in their transformation. Further, IBM Cloud for Financial Services and Atos OneCloud will also help companies to cater to problems linked with compliance, security, and resiliency. 

The Atos Cloud Center of Excellence will offer financial and technological services and expertise for clients. In addition, these services will be further supported by Atos professionals who have trained on IBM Cloud for Financial Services, Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks. These professionals will also offer assistance in local languages.
