American online food ordering and food delivery platform DoorDash has announced that it is set to acquire hospitality tech startup Bbot.
As things stand, Doordash has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Bbot. However, the terms of the deals have not been disclosed yet.

How will Bbot’s acquisition help DoorDash?
Doordash has made a name for itself for offering new tools and technologies to merchants and helping them scale their business.
With this acquisition, the company will leverage Bbot’s technologies and products to create additional value for its merchants. Besides, the partnership will also fulfill the requirements of restauranteurs and food & beverage venue operators.
Tom Pickett, Chief Revenue Officer, DoorDash said that the company is looking forward to introducing its combined suite of products to a larger number of merchants across the hospitality sector. These include ghost kitchens, hotels, bars, and more.
He further added that the acquisition of Bbot will help businesses engage with more customers and also enhance the quality of the services they offer.
Bbot’s best-in-class features along with customizable solutions will allow DoorDash to support the rapidly evolving requirements of merchants.

Bbot provides a bunch of in-store digital ordering services that are primarily designed to assist merchants to boost their sales while offering a quality customer experience.
Some of Bbot’s features include a QR scanner that allows customers to order via an interactive online menu when they are dining at a restaurant.
The company’s solutions are known for minimizing wait times while ordering and paying at restaurants. This helps the staff benefit from faster turnaround times.
Besides, Bbot’s tech solutions can be seamlessly integrated with the merchant’s existing point of sales (POS) systems, loyalty programs, and other reservation services.

DoorDash’s recent business developments
Prior to the acquisition of Bbot, DoorDash’s most recent acquisition was in November 2021 when it acquired Wolt, a Finnish delivery firm for around $8.1 billion.
In February, DoorDash announced the launch of Storefront – a relatively new commission-free ordering product across the U.S.
