Donald Trump, the former President of the United States of America has launched his own “communications” platform and named it “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump. The announcement comes months after Mr. Trump’s Twitter and Facebook accounts were suspended.
The new platform will enable Mr.Trump to voice his opinions and give him an opportunity to directly communicate with his followers. As of now, the new platform “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” can be seen on www.DonaldJTrump.com/desk.

The new space will allow Mr.Trump to post videos, images, and post comments. While Trump followers can share the content posted by him on other social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, they cannot engage or comment on it.
Soon after the launch, Mr. Trump posted a video “In a time of silence and lies”. The video primarily focuses on creating awareness about the new platform.
The website that hosts the new platforms includes a sign-up list for people where they can enter their contact information to receive notifications when Mr.Trump posts something.
Mr. Trump has been vocal about creating his very own social media platform after his account was suspended by Snapchat, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
According to Senior Adviser, Jason Miller, Mr. Trump’s website is a good source to read his latest statements. He also said that this platform is not the social media platform Mr. Trump has been talking about since his social media suspension and more details will be shared soon.
Donald Trump’s Social Media Suspension
Popular social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and Snapchat blocked Mr. Trump’s account following the riot in the Capitol.
According to Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, allowing the former President to use the platform was very risky and required immediate action.
The launch of the new platform comes a day before Facebook’s Oversight Board is set to announce its decision regarding the duration of Mr.Trump’s ban from the platform. In case his ban is revoked, Facebook will have a week’s time to reactivate his account.
A Twitter spokesperson said that regardless of what Facebook decides, Mr. Trump is permanently banned from tweeting.
