Evolving Consumer Behaviour Provides Boost to Digital Commerce

PayPal’s announcement comes at a time when more and more consumers are switching from cash and card transactions to other digital payment alternatives.

According to American Express, nearly 70% of U.S. merchants reported that their customers have requested the option of mobile payment or tap-and-go payment system [1].

Besides, the COVID-19 pandemic has remained another major factor that continues to drive the growth of omnichannel commerce. As a result, businesses from around the world are increasingly investing in unified commerce technology to boost efficiency and provide a seamless omnichannel experience.

Today, consumers are demanding the same experience and data regardless of whether they are offline or online.

How Will PayPal Zettle Help Small Businesses?

Moving forward, PayPal Zettle is likely to be a game-changer for small businesses due to the advantages it presents.

With PayPal Zettle, small businesses can accept payments from customers with the Zettle card reader. Besides, it also allows businesses to manage sales, sell, report, and make payments across numerous platforms in one place.

There’s more for small businesses! The newly launched point-of-sale solution provides businesses with the opportunity to make the most of PayPal’s suite of commerce and payment solutions.

The partnership with PayPal for online as well as in-person commerce will also allow businesses to provide more payment alternatives. Some of the options include debit or credit cards, Venmo and PayPal QR Codes, digital wallets, and more.

Jim Magats, SVP, Omni Payments, PayPal said that consumers are increasingly demanding integrated and spotless digital experiences. Due to this, business owners have to seek new ideas and ways to cater to the evolving needs of consumers both online and offline.

Business owners can link PayPal Zettle to their existing or preferred point-of-sales, accounting, and commerce partners. In addition, the POS solution is integrated with an array of partners such as Lightspeed, QuickBooks Online, BigCommerce, and SalesVu.

PayPal Zettle card reader is available for $29.
