Telstra, one of the leading telecommunications companies in Australia has entered into a partnership with MYOB. The partnership is aimed at making it easier for small to medium-sized Australian businesses to access the desired digital solutions that will assist their growth. The partnership will allow Telstra to offer MYOB Essentials, the cloud-based online accounting software developed by MYOB directly to its business customers.
The partnership which is set to launch today identifies the increasing need for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to embrace digital technologies, especially after the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the ongoing pandemic, businesses across Australia have been compelled to transform their business operations digitally. Before the pandemic, nearly 92% of businesses believed that in the upcoming months, their business models would have to adapt to digitization. [1]
According to a Business Intelligence Insights report published by Telstra, nearly 76% of small and medium businesses accepted that digital technologies played an important role in helping them stay connected with their customers in 2020. Further, around 72% of customers agreed that digital technology helped their businesses stay afloat in 2020.
Telstra and MYOB Partnership
As a result of the newly inked deal, existing as well as new Telstra business customers will get a free three-month MYOB Essential subscription. The partnership will also allow businesses to combine MYOB and Telstra mobile subscriptions into the same bill which will simplify payment and administration tasks.
Anne Da Cunha, Small Business Executive Telstra said that Telstra understands how tedious running a business can be. Hence, Telstra is doing its best to simplify things for small businesses and has set its eyes on becoming a one-stop-shop service provider for SMBs within Australia.
Daniel West, Chief Sales, and Support Officer MYOB said that data highlights why small businesses should digitize. The chance for business customers to combine their telecommunication needs with their accounting software is one of the best ways to save time, grow, and digitize at the same time.
