Snapchat was experiencing a major issue on Thursday evening, with nearly 125,000 Snapchat users reporting problems. The social network applications is either crashing or down for many users based on data from Down Detector and user Tweets.
This is not the first time a major outage has hit the tech space this week. Earlier in the week, multiple high-traffic websites were down due to a DNS outage attributed to Akamai.

What is going on with Snapchat?
The reports about Snapchat going down surfaced around 3:00 PM Pacific Time (PT), and four hours into the outage, some users are still unable to use the app.
The application is working partially for many users. However, a lot of users are still not able to send snaps.
Snapchat has come out and acknowledged the issue on Twitter. The company said that it is aware of an issue that is stopping users from logging in. It further said that they are working toward finding a solution.
We’re aware of an issue preventing some Snapchatters from logging in. Hang tight, we are looking into it and working on a fix!

As a Snapchat user, there is not much you can do other than wait for the app to be back up and running again. You can keep tabs on the situation and get the latest updates by following the Snapchat Support account on Twitter.
Snapchat faced similar problems in June as well, where a bug was responsible for the app to crash on the iOS Snapchat version.
